Trust In A Gust has been confirmed to retire into a stud career following the 2015 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival and has been included in 2015 BTC Cup nominations.

Finishing outside the third three only twice through his 18 career starts so far, Trust In A Gust undoubtedly registered career-best form to date through the 2014 Spring Carnival, highlighted by wins in each of the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Toorak Handicap (1600m).

Having received an ideal lead-in to the BTC Cup in placing second in a Caulfield minor over 1200m on April 18th, the Keep The Faith entire will be difficult to beat in his return to Group 1 company.

Our Boy Malachi is surprisingly yet to contest a Group 1 race but is sure to enter the 2015 BTC Cup as a leading chance for success having won 17 of his 19 career starts.

Transferring to the care of Team Hawkes following his 2014 winter campaign, Our Boy Malachi won each of the Listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) and Listed Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m) over a brief summer campaign; returning to take out the Group 3 Hall Mark Stakes (1200m) a fortnight ago.

Talented three-year-olds Scissor Kick, Rubick and Bring Me The Maid are all yet to break through for a maiden win at the highest level but will be treated well in the weights in the 2015 BTC Cup and are sure to perform well over the Doomben 1200m course.

Winning the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) first-up this season and placing a credible fourth in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) most recently, Scissor Kick is a proven performer amongst open company and is sure to lay a great account for himself.

The winner of the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (1000m) most notably through eight career starts, Rubick was unable to figure in each of his last two starts but flies fresh and will relish a brief freshen up.

Winning the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) before finishing a credible third in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) most notably last year, Bring Me The Maid placed a close second in the Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint (1200m) first-up this time.

Proven veterans Temple Of Boom and Boban will be charged with carrying reasonable weights in the 2015 BTC Cup but are also more than capable of positive performances.

The winner of the 2012 edition of the Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m), Temple Of Boom returned to scintillating form over the 2014 winter; winning the Group 2 Victory Stakes (1200m) before running second in each of the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) and Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m).

A two-time Group 1 winner, Boban ran three races in early autumn and should relish the slight step back in class for the Brisbane Group 1 sprints.

The 2015 BTC Cup final field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, May 6th.
